Honeymoon Suite – 2016

Honeymoon Suite at the General Sikorski Hall, Oshawa on Friday, July 22, 2016

A birthday celebration wouldn’t be complete without a rocking night out with three great bands.

Honeymoon Suite rocked it out in Oshawa at the General Sikorski Hall, but not before two amazing bands built up the momentum.

First up was Jay Alan from the Crossdockers. Unfortunately he became a ‘Crossdocker’ as his band members were held up at the border and could not reach the venue in time. Not letting that hinder any plans for the night, Jay took the stage solo and sang a great acoustic set full of soul and passion. Jay Alan, a well-rounded musician did not disappoint the fans.

Next up on stage was “The House Call” … They performed many of their popular originals songs along with some covers. This band, in its entirety performs covers under the name of ‘Acoustica’ and they do a stellar job. David Wells, the lead singer and a good friend dedicated a song ‘Take a picture by Filter’ to moi as it happened to be my birthday and was one of my many favourites which they do so well. I was in my elements.

Honeymoon Suite who needs no introduction stole the show. This Canadian hard rock band from Niagara Falls, Ontario rocked. Johnny Dee was pumped and belted out his lyrics while interacting between the crowd, his guitar and microphone. Their performance included great hits like, “New Girl Now”, “Burning in Love”, “Love Changes Everything” just to name a few. Their vocals and sound was amazing, not much to be said for the lighting though, it could definitely use some work. The band is tight and has lost nothing musically. Don’t miss your chance to see Honeymoon Suite at their next performance in a city near you.

Band members include: Derry Grehan, Johnnie Dee, Dave Betts, Peter Nunn, Gary Lalonde

Special thanks go to Shamus Black and Black Moon Entertainment for hosting these live events and promoting live music.

Great show, great night and a great birthday!
